A common theme throughout 2017 has been the shifting scale of the Overwatch eSports scene as teams dissolve and rebuild into new organizations and combinations. Trailblazing organizations have undergone major roster shifts, and well known and well received organizations have folded through the numerous pressures eSports presents. But in true Overwatch fashion, those who leave often find their way back sooner or later.

Former Misfits general manager Ali “Alicus” Saba has reentered the scene with several well-known players in the new team Laser Kittenz. A multinational team, Lazer Kittenz consists of former Bench Boys players Finley “Kyb” Adisi, Seigi “Winghaven” Torras. And Luis “Greyy” Perestrelo, Nikolaj “Zaprey” Ian Moyes of former Misfits fame, and Herman “Nesh” Kobrin formerly of the Russian team Slav Squad. Alongside this, Chris “spazzo” Infante takes the coaching position while Saba has taken on overseeing the team’s operations.

Alicus had left Misfits earlier this year citing burn out as a major contributor for his resignation, but the roster shows promise as fan favorites from major trailblazer teams have found a new name to play under. Currently, Laser Kittenz is among the many Overwatch competitive teams attempting to bid for slots in the upcoming Overwatch League.

The new Laser Kittenz team makes its official debut Monday in the Overwatch PIT and will prove an interesting addition to the growing lineup as the Overwatch League looms ever closer on the horizon.
